road header

Currently the road header family consists of three weight classes with weights from 61 t to 130 t and cutting power ranges from 200 kW to 400 kW.

Wide carriages and the resulting low ground pressure as well as the low water consumption of the optional water-mist spray system facilitate manoeuvring on soft and water-sensitive roadway floors. The prevention of larger water quantities in roadway drivages and production areas also favours the use especially in inclined roadways, tunnels and extraction areas.

The optionally integrated drilling and bolting system makes for quick and accurate installation of rock bolts. Besides conventional bolting positions in arch-section and rectangular roadways the drill rig can also adopt any conceivable drilling angle in the drivage direction, as may be required for exploration or reinforcement work. High-performance hydraulic rock drills ensure short drilling and bolting cycles no matter what bolting method and bolt length will be used. Tailor-made drill feeds systems allow optimum matching to the required drilling and bolting tasks and to different roadway profiles.

Our roadheading machines are steered using separate radio control consoles that ensure reliable, accurate and ergonomic handling. An automatic profile display and recording system is used to maintain the accuracy of the cutting profile, while all relevant status conditions are displayed and monitored by an on-board data acquisition and diagnosis unit that also relays the signals to the control room and to an online data system.

Various design features and accessories for the three road header classes allow for optimum adaptation to different tasks and operating conditions.
