Roadheader Manual

Roadheader Technique Description
A. Hydraulic System
Brief introduction: All the EBH45 roadheader machines are driven by hydraulic system, which is directly powered by a 75 kW electric motor.
This motor can directly drive two variable displacement pumps:
(1) The two variable displacement pumps separately supply oil to two oil hydraulic circuits.
(2) The front pump is a load-sensing variable displacement piston pump. It controls the traveling of the machine and the working of cylinder through pilot valve.
(3) The rear pump is a variable displacement piston pump that controls the rotation of the cutting head. (Read More)

Roadeheader Maintenance
1. Power off the machine when maintaining its electrical components and parts.
2. Implement daily maintenance strictly as per daily inspection requirement.
3. Regularly clean the places that are easy to get clumped.
4. Pay special attention to the breakdown caused by the filling of coal dust and water. (Read More)

Roadheader Notes
1. Employ a qualified full-time driver to drive the machine. Person except the driver is prohibited from starting the machine arbitrarily.
2. The cutting head should be in a spinning status when tunneling.
3. Don’t start the cutting head with objects bond, and don’t start the cutting motor if the cutting head is already in the coal or rock. In the latter case, we need to retreat it first before start it.
4. Keep cooling system on when the cutting head is working.
5. The backside support part should be retracted to its limit and the front shovel should be raised up when the machine is moving forward, backward or turning around. By doing this, we can control the range of the movement to prevent it from touching the transshipment machine.
6. For huge coals and rocks, we need to take a proper way to make it small in size before loading. If a huge coal or rock blocks the entrance, then manual smash will be required. (Read More)

Roadheader Operating Method
A. Traveling Mechanism
1. There are two operating sticks controlling the movement of the machine. Use the left stick to turn left and right stick to turn right.
2. Pull the operating stick forward to make the roadheader go forward, and pull it backward to make the machine go backward.
3. When turning a corner, pull both of the operating sticks simultaneously in the direction opposite with the turning direction of the machine.
Note: When the corner is relatively narrow, pay attention to not collide the front cutting head and the rear transporting machine with props nearby. (Read More)
